Agencies working to weaken us: Kamal

Srinagar: Expressing optimism regarding the party’s performance in future, National Conference (NC) senior leader, Sheikh Mustafa Kamal said that his party will emerge successful in assembly elections which will begin from November, 25.

Kamal said that NC is a state based political party which has its wide reach throughout the state.
“NC has a wide history and it has a huge support from people across the state. We have our workers from Kashmir to Kathua and Ladakh. People have expectations with this party and it will emerge as winner in Assembly elections,” he said.
Dr. Kamal said that the debacle which the party faced in the recently held Lok Sabha elections will not affect its image.
He held the agencies responsible for the party’s poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections.
“There are many agencies (both in uniform and state based) active in the state aimed to weaken the electoral prospectus of National Conference but we have full faith on our people who will stand against all odds to ensure party’s win. Last year V.K Singh’s revelation has made it clear to the people,” Kamal added.
He said that many NC workers were lured with money by different agencies in the recently held Lok Sabha elections which led to the party’s poor performance.
“People are now saying that they have done wrong by electing Peoples Democratic Party. Many of our workers were given money to play a vital role against NC who have now turned back to us,” Kamal said.
When asked whether the allegations levelled by Congress would affect the party’s image, Kamal blamed the Congress for backtracking NC from time and again.
“It is like ‘Ulta Chor Kotwaal Ko Daante’. They (Congress) are blaming NC for its poor performance but let me ask them what has happened to the party in New Delhi and other states. Sher-i-Kashmir has earlier told that Congress party had backtracked him,” he said.
Kamal said that the party’s forthcoming strategy would ensure people with bright future of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Our strategy is simple. We will visits to the people and ensure them about bright future of J&K. NC was the party which relieved people from 400 years old slavery and we promise that we will strive to ensure public good in future also,” he said.
