Govt scrutinizes Model Code of Conduct violations

Srinagar: In view of the reports that departments were carrying out transfers and postings of some officials in violation of Model Code of Conduct, the government Thursday took a strong note and asked the officials to follow the guidelines of the Election Commission strictly.



A senior Government official of the General Administration Department (GAD) told that some complaints have been received by the government about the issuance of orders of transfers and postings in some Departments after the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct.
He said that the issue has been viewed seriously by the government. ”The instructions have been issued vide Circular No. 46 -GAD of 2014 -Dated 27.10.2014 about the schedule for the assembly elections and imposition of Model Code of Conduct,” he said.
He said that The Government has again directed all officers and officials to strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India regarding the procedures to be followed during the Model Code of Conduct, which is available in the website of GAD. (KNS)
