Kashmir youth will not be swayed by ISIS: Mehbooba
Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on Monday expressed her confidence in the youth of Kashmir, stating they would never join the militant Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant(ISIS).
"I have faith in the Kashmiri youth. I saw them rescue victims of the floods by the hundreds. Thus I do not feel that they will be swayed by a violent organisation like the ISIS," Mehbooba said.
Mehbooba's remark came after reports emerged of masked men unfurling the ISIS flag during Eid celebrations last week.
Terming the ceasefire violations between India and Pakistan 'unfortunate', Mufti also said that the governments of India and Pakistan should concentrate on providing relief to the victims of last month's floods, which had affected both countries.
