Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi appointed Vice Chancellor KU
SRINAGAR: N.N. Vohra, Governor of J&K, who is also the Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, has appointed Prof. (Dr.) Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, presently Director, Research, University of Kashmir as Vice Chancellor for a period of three years from the date he takes over charge as Vice Chancellor.
Prof. (Dr.) Andrabi is a well known Researcher in the area of Bio Informatics. After obtaining his M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry from Kashmir University, he obtained his Ph.D from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. He has also worked as Post doctoral fellow at Tuft’s Medical School, Boston, USA, as well as Department of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, USA. He has served as Associate Professor in the Department of Bio-Chemistry and as Professor and Chairman, Department of Bio-Technology, University of Kashmir. Dr. Andrabi has rich research experience and many of his papers have been published in reputed national and international journals.
While appointing Dr. Andrabi as Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, the Governor has expressed the hope that with his taking over as the VC, a strong push will be given to the research and academic activities in the University.
