Modi’s visit a political gimmick: Malik

Srinagar: Chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik on Thursday termed the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as political gimmick and an unsuccessful act to hoodwink international community.

Modi’s visit a political gimmick: Malik

“ By spending most of his time with army and forces at Saichen,Indian PM actually proved that he under the pretext of flood victims actually intended to celebrate Diwali with his army,” Malik said.
Yasin Malik said that Kashmiri Muslims have always respected the religious sentiments of every sect living in Jammu Kashmir. “Our prophet (SAW) has taught us tolerance and respecting others. We respect every religion and beliefs of the people but Indian PM by politicizing a human tragedy has proved that Indian government led by Hindu extremists is actually perusing an anti- Muslim and anti-Kashmiri agenda,” he said.
Malik has been living at his sister’s residence from last many days due to damages caused to his house at Maisuma by recent flood. Police according to JKLF spokesperson, cordoned Malik’s residence last night and placed him under house arrest. Police also raided the houses JKLF leaders Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, Bashir Kashmiri and activists Fayaz Ahmad last night.
Yasin Malik said that Indian prime minister should know that Kashmir is a Muslim majority area and majority of its residence celebrated Eid recently in a state of grief and sorrow. “ Modi  and his Kashmiri stooges instead of sharing pain of flood devastated Kashmiri Muslims on Eid, clamped curfew in Lal Chowk and didn’t even uttered a word of sympathy for the flood devastated people,” he said.
Malik further said that placing whole Kashmir under strict restrictions, arresting and house arresting political leaders and activists and halting day to day affairs of the common people for a mere drama visit is condemnable and people of Kashmir through their peaceful protest have actually given a strong message to Modi that people of Jammu Kashmir stand for Azadi and will never shun the path of resistance and struggle.
