Sharma a communal, biggest black-mailer: NC
Srinagar: National Conference Monday alleged that Congress leader from Jammu, Sham Lal Sharma is ‘communal’ who believes in the politics of deceit and hatred. The party said that Sharma won 2008 Assembly seat by goading the sentiments of voters against Muslims during Amarnath Land Agitation in 2008 in his constituency.
National Conference legislator, Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal said that people like Sham Lal Sharma with communal mindset would never make it to the Assembly unless they don’t indulge in the politics of hatred and communalism. “The performance of Sham Lal Sharma as Minister was nil and disappointing. As a Minister, he always tried to create wedge between the people of Kashmir and Jammu. He knows, he will gain only by playing communal politics,” Kamal said adding that Sharma is the biggest black mailer.
He said that Sharma tried to black mail Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather and when the later did not succumb to his pressure, he resigned to save his skin. “How can he term National Conference Ministers as black mailers, when he is the biggest black mailer himself,” Kamal said and added that Sharma fully knows that people are going to reject him this time.
National Conference Additional General Secretary told that during the last year of the Coalition Government, Sham Lal Sharma always tried to find new ways to appease his voters through his communal politics. “It was Sharma who had said that the next Chief Minister of the State should be from Jammu. He tried to befool the people of Jammu who all know that in a democracy the leader of the single largest party is sworn as Chief Minister,” Kamal said and made it clear that the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir has made it ample clear that only a Muslim can become the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kamal further added that Sham Lal Sharma filed to deliver as a Minister and he is now trying to appease his voters by indulging in blame game. (CNS)
