SDM thrashes orderly
Srinagar: Revenue employees posted at DC office Srinagar staged a protest and observed strike after Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khanyar and his security guard thrashed an Orderly in full public glare in the premises of DC office on Friday.
Scores of Revenue employees came out from their office chambers and demanded action against SDM Khanyar Syed Abid who according to eyewitnesses thrashed an Orderly Farooq Ahmed Shangloo mercilessly in front of scores of other employees.
President Divisional Level Revenue Employees Union Muhammad Maqbool Sofi told that SDM Khanyar and his security guard assaulted and beat the Orderly to pulp when the later informed him that he can’t join his office as he is under transfer. “This was sheer hooliganism and we condemned it. It was only after the intervention of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir that employees called off their strike,” he said.
