J&K polls: Omar Abdullah to contest from Beerwah in Budgam
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Thursday, filed nomination from Beerwah Assembly constituency in Budgam district for the upcoming assembly polls in the state.
Abdullah represents Ganderbal in the outgoing assembly. He is National Conference's CM candidate.
Among the other candidates already named by the NC are party's Jammu provincial president Devender Singh Rana (Nagrota), Bimla Luthra (Jammu East), Mohammad Yaqoob (Sangrama), Ghulam Hassan Rahi (Baramulla), Manzoor Ahmed Wani (Khansaheb), Yawar Masoodi (Pampore), Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Mir (Rajpura), Imran Nabi Dar (Kulgam), Peerzada Ghulam Ahmed Shah (Devsar), Farooq Ahmad Ganai (Dooru), Ghulam Nabi Bhat (Kokernag), Riaz Ahmed Khan (Shangus), Altaf Kaloo (Pahalgam), Raj Kapoor (Ramnagar), Ghulam Haider Malik (Bani) and Abdul Gafoor (Aknoor).
The names of party candidates are being finalised by the party's parliamentary board under the chairmanship of party president Farooq Abdullah.
