NC village-head killed in Kashmir
A elected village-head of the ruling
National Conference was shot dead by suspected militants at his home in Jammu and Kashmir's Shupian district, a top source told Kashmir Dispatch on Sunday.
He said NC village-head Mohammad Sultan Bhat, 38, after suspected militants barged into to his home in Nazimpora and shot him from a point blank range.
Bhat died before being shifted to a
medical facility, the sources said.
Government forces have cordoned off the village and were conducting
searches when the report was filed.
Militants had warned people against
participating in the ongoing state
election.
Polling in Shupian district is scheduled during the fourth phase on December 14.
