Omar Abdullah appreciates Narendra Modi's foreign policy

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his foreign diplomacy.

Omar, while speaking to media on Wednesday said that the Prime Minister has done well as far as maintaining relations with foreign countries is concerned.

The J&K chief minister went on to say that PM Modi has done a good job in reaching out to country's immediate neighbours.

Omar asserted that PM Modi's biggest feat was to successfully invite US President Barack Obama
as the chief guest on the occasion of Republic Day.

However, Omar maintained that the PM needs to do a lot in fulfilling his election promises.

Omar' praise for PM modi has led to PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti slamming the National Conference (NC) leader. Mufti lashed onto Omar
saying that the NC can join hands with any party to remain in power in the hilly state.

The J&K CM is contesting elections from two seats - from Beerwah constituency of Badgam district and Sonawar constituency of Srinagar
district.

Two main regional parties in Jammu and Kashmir - the National Conference (NC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) - are locked in a do or die electoral battle while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress too are giving the
pols their best shot.

PM Modi has told voters to end the dynastic rule and vote for the BJP if they wanted to usher in an era of development and prosperity in Kashmir.

The BJP is banking heavily on Prime Minister Modi's aggressive campaigning in its bid to achieve the 'Mission 44+' target required in an assembly of 87 seats.

The J&K polls will be held in five phases beginning on November 25. The counting of votes will take place on December 23.
