Sukma Naxal attack: CRPF jawan laid to rest in Kashmir

Srinagar: CRPF jawan Muhammad Shafi Bhat, killed in a Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh, was given a tearful adieu by locals as his body was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Pattan area in Kashmir.

Hundreds of residents, police officials and CRPF jawans participated in the last rites of Bhat who was among the 13 CRPF personnel killed in a naxal ambush in Sukma district in Chhattisgarh
on Monday.

Bhat is survived by two children -- three-year-old son and eight-month-old daughter. He joined the
CRPF in 2006 and was later posted  in Chhattisgarh.
