2nd Test: Pakistan vs Australia – Live Score
New Delhi: Live updates from Day 1 of the first Test match being played between Australia and Pakistan at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
Misbah won the toss and he decided to bat first. Australia have included Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Starc.
Misbah-ul-Haq-led Pakistan would be hign on confidence after comprehensively winning the first Test. Australia failed to combat Pakistan's quality spin bowling attack and suffered a 221-run defeat. Zulfiqar Babar and Yasir Shah were the heroes with the ball for Pakistan as they scalped seven wickets each.
Even in the batting department, Pakistan made the best use of the batting conditions as Younis Khan slammed two centuries in the first Test. Ahmed Shehzad and Sarfaraz Ahmed were the other two batsmen who contributed with three-figure knocks. For Australia, the only century came from David Warner as the rest of the batsmen looked absolutely clueless and were dismissed playing for extra turn.
Michael Clarke and Steven Smith have the reputation of being established players of spin bowling and the onus will be on these two batsmen to do the maximum scoring for the Aussies. The form of Nathan Lyon would be a major concern for the team management and Clarke would want his experienced spinner to make some impact in the second Test.
