BJP’s political game plan
New Delhi: Buoyed by recent assembly poll results where BJP got thumping victory, now the party is making strategy for its mission 44 in Jammu and Kashmir. The saffron party it seems doesn't want to leave any stone unturned to create history in the State.
The Modi-led troops want to win majority mark 44 in 87 seated Assembly in the State and for that the saffron party is toying with all possible ideas. Latest report says that, to bolster party's chance in valley, the BJP is focusing on registration of lakhs of Kashmiri migrants as voters.
The Lok Sabha results proved that BJP has good strength in Jammu and Ladakh region and if party will improve its prospect in valley it will easily get it through. More than two lakh Kashmiri Pandits from various districts like Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Pulwama, Budgam, Bandipora and Kupwara had fled from valley in nineties when militancy was on its peak in the State. Now party is banking upon them by facilitating their enrollment in state voters list.
The party believes that separatist will boycott poling in the valley. And in that condition if Hindu votes will go in its kitty then the party will definitely get success in its mission 44.
The strategy this time is not to touch controversial topics like article 370 and instead thrive on anti-incumbency and dynastic politics of National Conference (NC) and PDP.
Apart from these, BJP's is also banking on "anti-corruption and development" plank of the party and Modi as the big mascot.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent gestures like his four times visit to State and decision to celebrate Diwali with flood victim has reportedly given big push to party's prospect.
In last Assembly election (2008) the BJP had got only 11 seats. The NC had got 28, PDP 21 and Congress 17 seats. In lok Sabha election BJP had won three seats Ladakh, Jammu and Udhampur out of six.
