PHE casual labors to campaign against NC
JK assembly polls
SRINAGAR: Lambasting senior leaders of ruling National Conference (NC) for their alleged move to sabotage the regularization policy of more than 60,000 casual labors and daily wagers of various departments, the casual labors of Public Health Engineering department (PHE) Tuesday said that they would launch a door to door campaign against NC.
The agitated daily wagers said that the present coalition government has blackmailed thousands of "poor" employees from last six years on one or the other pretext.
Sajad Ahmad Parry, President Jammu and Kashmir Casual and Daily Wagers Forum of PHE department today said that NC has formed Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) in 2009 under the leadership of finance minister, Abdul Rahim Rather to regularize those employees appointed in different departments after 1994 in the department.
While briefing a press conference, Parry said the present coalition government played with their sentiments from last six years and at the end of their turn the same politicians sabotaged their regularization list.
He accused the senior NC minister Mohmmad Akbar Lone for publically warning that not a single casual labor be regularized in present circumstances. Parry alleged that the senior minister said that, "Regularization of employees will never happen in my presence as minister."
The PHE casual labors President also said that this all process was not only done to put the career of thousands of educated youth on jeopardy, but to full their vested interests. "To sabotage our regularization list was done at the eleventh hour only after their (NC ministers) close relatives and workers were not included in the final list," he said.
Reading some unconfirmed figures of some backdoor entries, Parry said that some 69 employees were adjusted in the final list from south Kashmir's Kulgam district, 1111 candidates from Baramulla district and 118 from Srinagar by some politicians.
"We will disclose the exact figures of illegal appointments in different departments made by politicians within some days," he said.
Parry also said that they would move to court for their genuine demands and ask for justice in next few days.
"We have contributed our youthful days for the welfare of our departments and deserve the regularization, but vested interested politicians marred our future," he said, adding, nobody could stop them for fighting against injustice and for that their struggle would continue.
