Coalition with National Conference was bad experience for Congress: Ghulam Nabi Azad

Jammu: Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad Wednesday said his party's coalition with the National Conference (NC) was a bad
experience while lauding his party for giving powers to panchayats in Jammu and Kashmir.

He attacked the coalition government in the state for being a bad experience for his party during the past six years.

Addressing media here Wednesday, Azad said, "The Congress gave powers to panchayati raj in
the state. "We worked hard to formulate a policy for migrants in Jammu".

Azad alleged that the BJP was doing religion- based politics in the state.
He expressed hope the Congress party would get more seats in the state assembly elections being
held November-December than it has at present in the 87-member house.

The Congress has 17 MLAs in the present state assembly. The party has been in power in the state in alliance with the NC during the past six years.
