Four polling stations in flood-hit J&K relocated
Srinagar: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday ordered relocation of four polling stations, which were damaged by the recent
floods, to new locations in Bandipora district of north Kashmir.
"The ECI has accorded approval for change of location in respect of four following polling stations in district Bandipora which were damaged in recent floods," an official spokesman said.
He said Kema in Bandipora Assembly segment has been relocated to Girls Middle School Kema instead of Boys Middle School Kema, where it was earlier.
Rakh Asham polling station in Sonawari Assembly segment has been shifted to Middle School Gonchipora, the spokesman said.
He said Naidkhai-A polling booth has been shifted to Boys Middle School Bonapora (Naidkhai)
instead of Boys Middle School Bathipora and Naidkhai-G has been shifted to Girls High School
Naidkhai instead of Boys Higher Secondary School Naidkhai.
The Chief Electoral Officer Umang Narula has said that 99 polling stations in the state needed to be
relocated from their earlier places because of the devastating floods that hit the state in September.
