Mob barges into ADM's office, injures security officer in J&K

Kathua: A security officer of the Additional District Magistrate of Kathua was injured when a mob
barged into the office reportedly angry over a show-cause notice issued to a local cable network for telecasting a long segment on a
politician in violation of the poll code.

"We found that an illegally operating local cable network violated the Model Code of Conduct by airing a two-hour video of a particular politician...

When we issued them a show-cause notice, the channel owner reacted angrily and injured my staff (PSO)," said ADM Prasanna Ramaswamy,
who is also the returning officer of the district.

Ramaswamy said he asked the protesters to leave his office, but when they refused he had to call in CRPF to evict them from his office.

Ramaswamy has informed the Deputy Commissioner of the district about the incident.

"A complaint has been formally lodged to the DC office by my personal security officer (PSO) who
was injured," he said.

Police said they were investigating the incident and would lodge a case after the officer makes a formal complaint in this connection.

Sources said a local advocate was running the cable network.
