Kashmir killings: curfew in parts on Tuesday
The Jammu and Kashmir government
has decided to impose curfew in Old City areas and in Nowgam after army killed two civilian in Budgam district on Monday.
Two people were killed and two others injured when Indian army troops at a check post in Chatargam fired at a vehicle that allegedly jumped the inspection point, police said.
A senior police official said keeping in view of the killings incident, curfew would be imposed in areas falling under Maharaj Gunj, Safa Kadal, Rainawari, Nowhatta and Khanyar police stations and in the jurisdiction of Nowgam police
station.
However, another official said the
entire Srinagar city will remain under curfew.
The official said earlier authorities had decided to impose restrictions in Old City due to Muharram but now there would be curfew.
