Policewoman, civilian injured in J&K firing

Srinagar: A policewoman and a civilian were injured in a firing incident in Pulwama district of
south Kashmir on Tuesday, police said.

The policewoman who was part of a team on Muharram duty received a bullet injury in her shoulder near Jungle narh village, 35 kms from
here, a police spokesman said.

A civilian passing by was also injured  in the incident as he was hit by a bullet in the leg, the spokesman said.

He said the police party was deployed in the area in connection with 10th of Muharram and was returning when the incident took place.

The spokesman said the lady cop and the civilian have been hospitalised where their condition was stated to be stable.

The incident is being investigated, he added.
